Can you help my elderly parent make a will?
Yes — home, hospital and care-home visits are a large part of our practice. We come to your parent, take the time the appointment needs, meet with them privately as BC law requires, and keep careful notes about capacity and their wishes — the documentation that protects the will if it's ever challenged. Adult children are welcome to arrange the appointment; the instructions always come from the will-maker.
What's the difference between a Power of Attorney and a Representation Agreement?
An Enduring Power of Attorney covers your finances — bills, banking, property — if you lose capacity. A Representation Agreement covers your health care decisions in the same situation. A will only takes effect when you die, so most people want all three. That's what the Complete Plan covers.
How long does it take?
Most wills are drafted within a few days of the consultation. The signing appointment itself usually takes about an hour for a couple's full package. Urgent timelines — hospital signings, travel deadlines — can usually be accommodated; just ask.
